New Guinea impatiens come in a large variety of colors from pink to orange and lavender–making them a great choice for adding color to shady areas. Unlike other varieties of impatiens, New Guineas are hardy enough to tolerate some sunshine during the day, so if you have an east facing garden bed that gets some morning sunshine, these can add the perfect pop of color you’ve been looking for. Attractive foliage creates a wonderful backdrop for large colorful blooms that are full of nectar and a favorite for butterflies.
